What is your area of expertise?
I specialise in investment management, managing global, multi-asset class portfolios on a discretionary basis.
What is your role at Arbuthnot Latham?
My background is in investments, so I will be looking for opportunities to promote our investment capabilities in the North West and further afield. My primary objective is to enhance our profile, engaging with existing clients, partnering with key businesses and intermediaries, developing strategic partnerships with introducers and also directly targeting the local IFA market.
What challenges are clients facing at the moment?
There is a good deal of uncertainty in the markets currently and clients have reasonable concerns and worries about their wealth.
This is the time when experience can help you reassure clients.
With over 22 years of managing client investments, I have that experience.
Having seen first-hand several market cycles and periods of volatility, the key message to clients is to take a long-term approach to investing and maintain a diversified portfolio.
What sets Arbuthnot Latham apart in the market?
I initially liked the name and the credibility of Arbuthnot Latham, being well established and respected in the wealth management and banking industry.
The approach to building strong and trusting relationships with our clients and encouraging a team approach is something I value.
Before I joined, I met with some of the team and immediately felt a vibe of collaboration and mutual respect, and also one of friendship and fun.
Working in Manchester is also a big draw for me, there is a huge opportunity here as the city continues to grow and prosper, it is almost Renaissance-like.
I believe the bank recognises this and has a vision that aligns with mine and ambition to grow.
Manchester is home for me and always has been, so it is great to be back and be part of this team at Arbuthnot Latham. The future is looking exciting...
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my partner Natalie and her two boys.
I love the great outdoors and can often be found hiking in the fells of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales where I have a lodge.
I am also a time-served mountain biker, although I spend more time on my road bike these days.
I love sport - there is not much I will not sit and watch and get competitively and emotionally involved in.
I enjoy cooking and a having a nice glass of wine with friends and family.
I also like to read and follow the news closely, each Sunday, you will often find me with the Sunday Times catching up on global news and current affairs.
Having a curious and inquisitive nature I have always had an interest in science and cosmology and the mysteries of the universe!
