All ABL facilities are structured around a core of invoice discounting.
- Up to 95% of eligible receivable
- 120 days funding
Cash flow loan facilities can also form part of the debt structure for businesses with strong underlying EBITDA.

Meet the team
Tim Hawkins, Managing Director
Prior to founding Arbuthnot Commercial ABL, Tim was the managing director of Shawbrook Bank’s Regional Business Centres across the UK. A co-founder of private equity backed Centric Commercial Finance; the business was sold to Shawbrook in 2014. Recognised for leading high performing teams and delivering some of the most innovative, high profile transactions in the market, Tim is a pioneer of the asset-based lending industry in the UK. He has a strong track record of driving business growth over the past 25 years in a number of executive roles, including Commercial Director at Centric Commercial Finance and Managing Director at GE Commercial Finance.

Andrew Rutherford, Commercial Director
A multi award‐winning asset-based lending professional, Andrew has gained a depth of experience whilst working as Regional Managing Director at Shawbrook Bank, Co- Founder at Centric and business development roles at GMAC and GE.
Andrew structures and delivers working capital solutions for SMEs and Mid‐Market companies for MBOs, MBIs, acquisitions and refinancing’s. He is responsible for spearheading key business introducer development, working with Private Equity houses and professional intermediaries to deliver ABL and cashflow lending with the quantum and velocity of funding that today’s M&A market demands.

James Shaw, Operations & Risk Director
James heads up the Operations and Risk function with responsibility for the structuring and approving of new facilities, client management and risk. James has over 25 years’ experience in the asset-based lending industry including audit, client management and underwriting. Most recently he has held a number of executive roles including Head of Underwriting at RBS ABL and Risk Director at GE Commercial Finance.
