Year in review: celebrating 2024
As we start the new year, we have been reflecting on 2024’s highlights. We welcomed new clients, achieved impressive asset growth, celebrated strong client satisfaction, expanded our expertise, and made a positive impact in our local communities. We have also celebrated the dedication and hard work of our exceptional teams, whose contributions are central to our success. Here is a look at the milestones that defined our year.
Growth and performance
Last year, we welcomed over 1,000 clients and reached £2 billion in funds under management and administration, with an impressive 18% increase in the first nine months of 2024. These achievements reflect the collective effort and hard work of our teams and the trust that clients place in us to guide their financial journeys.
Client satisfaction
We are proud that 95% of our clients are delighted with the level of service we provide. Central to our success is our expertise, valued by an impressive 97% of our clients. This feedback highlights out commitment to delivering exceptional service and reflects the trust our clients place in us, as well as our dedication to their financial wellbeing.
Expanding expertise and years of service
Our people are the heart of our success. Last year, we welcomed 130 new colleagues, each bringing unique skills and fresh perspectives. We celebrated 450 years of collective experience across our teams, whose knowledge drives our success in delivering exceptional service and insights every day.
Our new head office and 30 years in Exeter
We proudly opened our prestigious new London head office at 20 Finsbury Circus, a 19th century building renovated to blend historic charm with a vibrant interior. A favourite feature is the new coffee bar keeping our London team energised, with over 300 coffees brewed daily, to fuel our efforts in delivering exceptional client service.
In Exeter, we marked the 30th anniversary in the city. We first opened our doors in 1994 at 17 Southernhay West, and in 2015, we moved to our current home in The Senate, Southernhay Gardens, in the heart of Exeter. What began as a focus on niche short-term property lending has since evolved into a full-service private bank supporting both individuals and businesses.
A key milestone came in 2016 with the addition of commercial banking services to complement private banking which spurred significant growth. Since then, our Exeter team has expanded from just 12 colleagues to a multi-disciplinary team of 46 experts. Reflecting on the journey, Rob Salisbury, Head of the Exeter Office shares:
“At Arbuthnot Latham Exeter, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to create a collaborative, ‘club feel’ with our clients. We start by truly understanding our clients’ needs, which often go beyond traditional banking or wealth planning advice. It might be offering a networking opportunity or providing a sounding board for ideas from someone who has faced similar challenges.
Through this approach, we help clients build meaningful connections with like-minded individuals—relationships that might otherwise be hard to foster. This is what I’m most proud of, and it’s what excites me for the future. At Arbuthnot Latham, we don’t just provide banking and wealth management advice; we support our clients in navigating their unique financial journeys.”
Community impact
Our teams dedicated 281 days to volunteering, giving their time and skills to support the causes that matter most. One of our key initiatives was the donation of 157 laptops to schoolchildren, helping bridge the digital divide and empower young people with the tools they need. These efforts underscore our belief that success is not only by what we achieve, but by how we give back.
As James Rogerson, Corporate Responsibility and Communications Manager, shares:
“At Arbuthnot Latham, we are committed to driving positive community impact and bridging the gap between charities and social initiatives. In 2024, we further expanded our corporate responsibility efforts to boost our societal impact. Our initiatives include volunteering, philanthropy, £4£, and payroll giving.”
Recognition and connection
We hosted 1,636 clients across 65 events, strengthening connections with moments that brought us closer to our clients. Our commitment to excellence was recognised with nine prestigious awards. Four celebrating our achievements as a company and five honouring the outstanding contributions of our colleagues.
Thank you
As we close this chapter, we want to extend our gratitude to our clients, colleagues, and communities for making 2024 a truly memorable year. Here is to continuing this momentum in 2025 and beyond. Thank you for being part of our journey.
