Chris Reah, Director of Private Banking in our South West Office, has been with Arbuthnot Latham for 2 years after working in banking for over 20 years. We spoke to him about his experience working for the company and his hobbies and interests away from the office.
Chris described to us the most important trait in his role by saying: ‘good private bankers don’t sell things, they help clients set and achieve goals.’
For Chris, the most rewarding aspect of his job is meeting clients. ‘Everyone has a story, no matter what their level of wealth. Running a happy and fulfilled team is also important to me.’
‘Companies are not buildings and brands, they are a collection of people. At Arbuthnot Latham, there is a driving desire amongst all of the staff to do the right and best thing for our clients. That’s unusual in banking these days.’
Although Chris would like to still be playing rugby and cricket in his spare time, this has given way to watching his teams, Somerset CCC and Exeter Chiefs, running around after his children and playing guitar, to which he describes, ‘very badly’!
